With a few stirrings, Kailey finally awoke from her coma. She saw she was no longer in the bar but was lying in one of the Roadhouse guest bedrooms. There were bandages around her waist and arms and a cast around her leg.
Jo sat beside her with a smile. "You really caused some trouble out there."
Kailey blinked. "I'm...sorry." She rubbed her head. "So I passed out? Damn, I should've been a bit more careful. I didn't mean to worry you guys. But that hunt I went on..."
"Forget about it," Jo waved her hand nonchalantly. "We all have our days. Ash is pretty worried about you. Mom told him to stay out until you woke up."
The brunette blushed at her comment and rubbed the back of her neck. "I feel bad for making him worry, too. He told me to be careful before I left and I..."
Suddenly, the door opened and Ash hurried into the bedroom. "Kailey! Are you okay?" He saw Jo frown at him and he raised an eyebrow. "What?"
"Didn't Mom tell you to stay out until she called you in? Tch. Idiot."
He frowned. "Well, excuse me for worrying. Now, get out, blondie. I wanna talk to Kailey alone." Jo scoffed again as she crossed her arms, getting up from her chair and walking out of the bedroom. Ash closed the door behind him and took a seat by Kailey's bed. "So...how're you feeling?"
"Pretty good for the most part," Kailey said, wincing a bit. "My leg's broken and I've got a bad stomach wound. I'll probably be out of commission for a while."
Ash shook his head. "You should stay at my place for a while 'till you recover. I don't think Ellen's gonna let you stay here."
Kailey smirked. "Oh? And what makes you think I wanna go to your place? It's probably filthy. 'Sides I can't move 'cause of this busted leg of mine."
The blonde man leaned in and kissed her lips. "Then I'll carry you around. 'S no big deal."
She smiled, pressing her forehead against his. "I'd like that." He kissed her once more and she wrapped her bandaged arms around his strong neck, feeling his lips move slowly down her cheek and collarbone.
"And the best part of this," Ash whispered, "is that you can't move when we're doing it."
"You pervert!"
