Feeling a little depressed...

Journal Entry: Sat Nov 5, 2011, 10:11 PM
Hello everyone and thanks for reading! The week went by pretty fast...again and BAM! it's the second week of November already. December will come and go just as fast. Where the heck has all the time gone to? ; A ;

Lately, school's been nothing but a big hassle for me. My parents still won't get off my back and my grades haven't been so good these past few weeks. I know I've gotten advice about college and how I shouldn't worry about my grades too much, but it's easier said than done. Seeing those bad grades have done wonders on my self-esteem. I'm doing pretty okay on homework but quizzes and tests just aren't my thing. I realized that I suck at test-taking. I get so nervous no matter what I tell myself. Sorry for complaining and repeating myself so much. I'm just feeling pretty down now.

On top of that, I think I'm going bald. My hair is falling out a lot and it itches almost all the frickin' time. I got it cut short about a month ago but that didn't seem to work. There are still a bunch of patches on my head that have little to almost no hair. I really hope I don't have some sort of terminal illness or cancer. That would not be good at all. Now I'm an emotional rut like my sis was... D:

The good thing is, however, I have a way to make up those bad grades in one of my classes! I plan to work hard on the extra credit and hopefully, raise my exam grade a bit. My teacher told me that I have an A in the class and after the finals and my presentation, I wouldn't have to come back! But I like the class so much, I wanna stay. ; w ; I'll still work on the extra credit; I'm positive that it'll help me with that nasty grade. As for the balding, I'll try and stick with a pretty clean diet to see what happens. /prays

Putting school and my bald head aside...commissions and trades are still open! ;la: I would like to try and take my mind off of this depression so please send me some orders if you have time. I'll get to them as soon as I can~ <3

A begrudging England awoke from his supposedly relaxing nap when he heard the sounds of yapping, followed by a series of rapid knocking, just outside his front door. He grumbled to himself as he trudged to the door.

When he opened the door, he muttered out an angry "What do you want?". In front of him was his little brother America...with a new pet. A poodle, to be exact. And it was especially fluffy.

"...Question. What is that...?"

Happy Birthday America"I love my freedom; I love my America." - Jessi Lane Adams

Today was America's birthday, the Fourth of July, or Independence Day in the United States. None of his friends knew how old he was, nor did they want to know. The number would be much too high to comprehend, even though he was young compared to the older nations.

America had invited the nations to come to his house for a birthday extravaganza. He was known for those wild parties he loved to throw, full of junk food and loud music. England, America's older brother, usually complained about the craziness and the "disgusting food" that he cooked but he let it slide for this occasion.

:C yumi! I hope you feel better soon~:hug:
we actually have the same problem nowadays with college i mean,
I just started the semester and it feels like hell already...I hope we both get by them! fight!

With the hair loss...it's actually due to stress,
I've had alopecia before too during my high school years, because I had low self-esteem issues before~^^;
i decided to consult a dermatologist...the doc gave me some medications to rub on your scalp that prevents more hair loss
you should go and have it checked too just to be sure!

...:glomp: i hope that helped...feel better yumi and don't let depression beat you! ;V;
do more productive stuff instead! like the things you always loved to do~ (writing perhaps?)
If ever you want to talk to someone...I'm always here!~ ;u;

Oh, Cookie! Thank you for your support! ; u ; I'm so sorry that you're going through such trouble with your college classes, but I'm praying that we both get through it! I will fight! You must fight, too! D:<

It is? That's good that it isn't too serious. I think I'll do that. Thanks for that tip! :D Do you think it would also be best to get a blood test, too?

:iconcryforeverplz: Don't worry! I'm fighting with everything I've got. I'm trying to spend as much time writing as I can. Pretty much why I opened commissions. |D I love you, Cookie. I'm glad that I know you're here for me. :heart:

I think the best thing for you to do about your grades is to take things one step at a time. College is way different from any other education system out there (like high school and elementary/junior high) and it requires a LOT of time spent to get things done. The general rule of thumb is that for every credit hour you're taking, you should spend three hours studying each week for that class, and that's if you really want to be successful. But the little things always count - going to class as often as possible, doing the homework, or just squeezing in some time to go over the lessons. A great thing about memory is that there's a way to strengthen it - study something before you go to bed and you dream about it. Studying about something and then going over the same information spanned across the week also helps too - that way when you try to pull up information for tests it'll be a lot easier to retrieve. Remember, don't wear your heart on your sleeve - every freshman struggles with grades. I had a friend who is amazing at school, getting scores that topped mine and she got her first C during her freshman year. Just have a positive outlook and keep trying to maintain everything and maybe have a schedule so you can get in everything you can and spend extra time on subjects that aren't your strong point.

I'm really sorry about your hair issue. I think that restricting your diet would be a good idea - if you're not getting certain nutrients or vitamins then it can definitely contribute to the health of your hair. I also don't know if you've ever dyed your hair or you do often but that can be a big factor to it since dying it can really damage it, or using a lot of certain products or even just straightening/curling irons. Try to balance what you eat and maybe get some supplements if you think you're missing something important. I also think the blood test is a good idea or just heading to your doctor to let them know what's going on since if you're concerned about it, there's obviously some realness to it. Hearing their professional advice would also open up some new options, I think. Just try not to stress about it since I'm sure the added on stress of your new college life might cause some side effects - take things slow and easy. (:

Good luck with trying to balance out all of your grades and make sure to update the rest of us on your progress; I know I love to hear about how things are going for you and it'd be nice to know when you might need some extra encouragement~

Love ya :heart:

Nice to hear from you again, Moni-chan. I'm glad school hasn't murdered you. And thanks so much for commenting on my b**ching journal. :huggle:

I believe I've heard that rule before. I need to take it more seriously, then. ; w ; It'll be hard but I'll do my best on that. That dreaming tip sounds interesting so I'll try that out as well. I've also heard that playing music will also help with mathematics so I can add that into my routine. I really didn't know that it was the freshman that would have some difficulty with grades. No lie. But I have been worrying about my grades since I've been in school; I've always been sensitive. D': However, I'll try to stay positive and work hard to pass all my classes with at least an A~ :la:

My parents have thought about getting a blood test done for me, so that would probably help in telling me what's wrong with my hair. I haven't dyed my hair but I have straightened and permed it, which could also lead to it falling out. However, I did change my diet not too long ago. I'm pretty much gluten free for now~ :dummy:

Thanks so much for your support. I'm really glad to have you as a friend, Monica. :heart: You have no idea how thankful I am whenever I read your messages. And I'll be sure to update more about my conditions and I'll try to fix those problems to relieve my stress.

Love you, too! :iconcryforeverplz:

Hi :la: Im sorry to hear that you're feeling down :hug: I hope you feel better soon :glomp:
I know the feeling of how stressful college can be. A few years ago my grades went down a lot, becuase at that time my anexity levels were really high and I couldn't concentrate, even on anime bealive it or not lol XD I took 4 tough classes at once while feeling like that, and they put my grade point average down which made me even worse. But thankfully it's back up now :D :la: Im not good at test taking either, homework is easy but everytime a test paper goes in front of me I get nervous and can't focus. So I know how you feel there XD
As for the bald spots, don't think about terminal illness, or anything because you're just going to make yourself more stressed :hug: People loose hair through extreme stress, and from what your saying about college, it could be that contributing to it all. And to put your mind at ease, a small blood test at the doctors will really make you feel much better. I found I was anemic when I had a blood test, so I just had to change my diet, and I have to take Ion tablets to keep everything in check :la:
I know what you mean about the time going fast :O Christmas is going to be here in no time :la: I really need to start saving so I can get presents for my family lol XD
And you're not a balding dumbass, you're awesome :dummy:
Hope you feel better soon Yume-Chan :tighthug:

Hello, Rachel! :icontardwaveplz: Aww, I appreciate your support! I do hope I feel better soon, too. ; w ;

Wow, I didn't know you went through something similar. o: Were your parents always on your back about grades, too? 'Cause mine always are and they'll probably never stop. =_= But I'm glad you were able to get back on track. I hope the same will happen to me, too. :D

That could be the reason why I'm losing hair but I do wonder if a blood test will tell me what's wrong. Oh, you're anemic? That must have been tough the first time you learned you had it. >.< But I'm happy that everything turned out all right, though. :3 I need to do the same. |D

Same here. I need a job and a debit card to shop online. That would help me with my financial problems right now. ; w ;

And thank you so much, Rachel! I'm glad that you support me! :3 :heart:

"The balding dumbass" *coughs*

I'm already seeing how hard it is for you. :( But fear not, I'm keeping you in every one of my nighttime (daytime, evening time, lunchtime, breakfast time-- shot) prayers. :D Just trust GOD and you'll ALWAYS have a way. :)

There's this little booklet I'm reading "How to Walk With GOD (You Are not alone)" by - Pastor P. Herbert, and chapter 7 is really helpful. You should read it sometime.

You have nothing to fear, because GOD holds onto you. :)
