Halloween in 8 Days~ 8D

Sun Oct 23, 2011, 1:11 PM
Hello everyone and thanks for reading! Nothing much to report here...'cept that the weather here is acting weirder than normal. |D

School? Been okay for me. How is everyone's school year so far? 83 I'm looking forward to winter break after all the exams, essays, and the large boatloads of homework. I've got good news as well as bad news.

Bad news: I failed my second math quiz. ; w ; No matter how many times I took it, I ranged between 50 -75 points out of 100. :iconorzplz: I'm so-so when it comes to mathematics but it's my highest grade from what I know. I had expected it to be English but...hey. I think I'll pass all three courses. It's the competition I'm worried about. OAO

Good news: I got a 97 on my English midterms! :iconlachoirplz: I thought I was terrible in this class but that grade really turned my thoughts around. Thank you, God! My first semester's gonna end on December 13th. Pretty excited about winter break and then Christmas! I hope I can participate in a few Secret Santa events this year. It sounds like a lot of fun. >w<

Commissions and trades are still closed but I've set my prices back to normal. I'll open them up once I have a little more free time. c: This week's goal is much higher than most, even though I'm halfway there already. Anyone willing to donate 1000 points~? :la:

Commissions and trades are now opened again! I need points! :la:

People I Plan To Commission/Owe Commission Points To [If they're open... |D]

- :iconnaiconiku: - 560 :points: for a normal headshot

- :iconrinzeruuu: - 160 :points: for a chibi couple picture

- :iconashita-no-hikari: - 200 :points: for a chibi

- :iconblackstorm: - 100/130 :points: for a headshot

Total: 1050 :points:

Well, that's all for now! Thanks again for reading and have a great day/night!

Don't tell anyone, but I'm using your journal as an excuse to procrastinate on a paper! ;D

I'm pretty excited for Halloween even if it is going to be lame. First off, it's on a Monday, so that means no friends coming over because it'll be a school night and I have classes the next day early. Bleh. Second, I'm too damn old to go out and trick or treat so the only candy I'll get to sample is the one I'll be handing out. Third, none of my brother's friends have younger siblings that I can pay to go trick or treating for me. LOL. And fourth, I don't have a snazzy costume this year. With my new haircut I was thinking of doing Cleopatra but I just don't have the hottyboombody for that.

All complaining aside, I'm sorry about your math quiz. But at least you didn't outright fail with less than a fifty, and as everyone else can point out, points are points! Some are better than none, and a range from 50-75 puts you way over a measly 0. And, since you put it up there too, congrats on your English midterm! I actually don't have midterms at my college so there's no worries for me, but they can be pretty damn stressful so I'm glad that you aced it. :3

LOL. That's fine with me. It's been a few hours since I've received a message so I'm happy to procrastinate with you! :la:

Halloween's gonna be pretty uneventful for me, too. I wish I could've trick-or-treated at least once in my life but oh well. |D People won't be coming to my door since they know our family doesn't celebrate Halloween but I would love to check out the mall. There will be a lot of children there since the store clerks give out candy. xD I'd like to see you in a Cleopatra costume. That would be interesting. :D

Thanks a lot! I feel a little better after reading your comment. :3 I'm happy that my low quiz grade didn't push me down to a B or a C. I'm still in the As~ :la: Lucky! No midterms for you! D: And I'm so glad that I aced my English midterm! I had actually thought I would fail it. xD

Heck yes! I'm glad. xD

Oh man. You've never been trick-or-treating before? ): I think I do remember you mentioning that your parents don't celebrate it, but it still seems like something you should get to do at least once in your life. Unless you feel the same way. Hey, maybe when you're married and you have kids you can take them out and steal their candy! Lol! But I don't think our mall gives out candy, that's pretty bomb of your's. Here we do have trick-or-treating events for kids around town and at the schools but it's just not the same...

Yeees! That's the spirit! Always look at the bright side in college or else you'll never survive. Haha. Anyway, I'm just glad that your midterms are over at least. My finals are in the beginning of December and I'm getting pumped to have them out of the way so I can start my last semester for my AA. When does registration start for you for the spring semester? Mine is coming up in the next week or two, though I have to meet with an advisor to make sure things are set straight.

Yeah, it's true. I've never been trick-or-treating before. I've lived under a rock for most of my life. /shot Our family doesn't celebrate Halloween 'cause our religion is strictly against it but I can see why. I probably won't celebrate it in the future. Maybe just give out candy to the kids that come over. I'll guess their costumes while passing out the goodies! |D I know! I love our mall! Does your school do things for Halloween/fall holidays?

That's good advice to give. XD I hope you don't overwork yourself trying to study for those finals. I'll be cheering for you! I'm sure you'll pass! :D I believe it starts now and close sometime in November. I've selected my classes - though I might have to talk with a counselor, too - but I have to ask my mom about locking them in since she still insists on driving me to and forth from school.

Well I mean, when I "celebrate" Halloween, all I do is give out candy. It's not like I'm really into the occult or anything, haha. And I've never heard of a division of a religion being that strict against it but I suppose it makes sense when it comes to otherworldly forces, specifically acts of the devil and all that. But yeah, when I was a kid, and still to this day, Halloween was just all about handing out or getting candy and dressing up, nothing more. x3 And you know, I think my school actually does have events there - I saw that yesterday they had some sort of costume party. They also hold movie screenings and have game nights sometimes, I just never go since I'm so busy.

Psh. Studying for finals = the night before cram sessions! XD Of course I'll stress about it heavily right before I take it but I've never struggled with one horribly before. If I was really that concerned about my grade I would spend weeks making sure I knew every bit of the material. Luckily I don't psych myself out very often though. But yeah, counselors are great with making sure you're fulfilling all the required credits so you don't have to take certain classes twice. Plus, some courses don't cover gen ed stuff despite you thinking they do. :/

Ah, I see. Sorry about the mix-up, then. ^^; Our family used to hand out candy to kids but I think that was just for one year. Then we started handing out brochures about why Halloween was bad. The kids didn't come back unfortunately. |D Wow, our schools must really love events! And I'm pretty sure the movies being shown will be scary. My school's gonna have a "ghost hunt" but I'd be too chicken to go. xD

Haha, I should've known you'll sail through this. You're like an expert on exams. xD I'd hate to have to take a course twice. That would be really boring. Dx

It's all goooood~ Haha. I can see why. I mean brochures wouldn't make me very happy if I was sugar-hungry kid on the prowl for candy. Once when I was trick or treating some lady handed out granola bars, and another one apples. Let's just say they were the most detested house in the neighborhood. xD And your school's event sounds so bombtastic. I'd love to go with a friend. Last year (I think), my friend took me to this 'haunted corn maze', where we had to find our way out in the dark with creepy guys stalking us and 'monsters' chasing us with chainsaws. So amazing.

Yeah it would. :/ It really sucks for GPAs, too, and since my scholarships ride on them, I would be screwed if I failed so hard I had to retake a course. And all that money wasted.

 Poor children. We only torture them with all these sugar-free goodies. |D Oh, man. I'd be screaming almost every second if I went to something like that. I'm sure my friends would hate me for it. xD

You're right. I'm hoping that my scholarship will hold me for next semester. I don't want to fail and lose that scholarship. D|
