I can't believe I forgot today's Sunday... /fail

Journal Entry: Sun Jan 22, 2012, 12:55 PM
Hello everyone and thanks for reading! It's already the end of January or at least it will be soon... It won't be long until my birthday comes and goes. ; w ;

So far I've had a pretty okay weekend. I went to a party on Saturday at Sparkles and fell on my behind while skating. How fun... But to make matters worse, the wig I was wearing to cover my now bald head fell off when I made my "graceful" stumble. Now, both my elbows and the left side of my ass hurts when I sit. T.T But I still had a lot of fun! I would love to go to Sparkles again but I'd just play the games and win stuff. xD

College has been okay, too, but I hope I can transfer as soon as possible. I like my tech school but I would like to experience living in dorms and such. Hopefully, I can transfer before the fall semester starts. I've been looking for various scholarships and so far only four catch my interests. All of the ones that seem doable require students to write essays or make a video about something. With all the stuff I have to do now, why the hell would I want to write a bunch of essays about how I deserve an award? Like anyone else, I'm a student who needs money for college. Simple as that.

But I'm really happy because next month, I'll be going on my first cruise! I'm sooo excited! :iconexcitedlaplz: The only drawback is my mom. She's so uptight before and even during trips, since she's the one planning them all, and she gets mad or picky at every little thing. I can understand that you don't want things to go wrong on a trip you paid good money for, but there's no need to direct your stress on everyone.

Yeah... Again, I apologize for the ranting. D:

Anyway, I'm still open for commissions, both PayPal and points. I was surprised that some people are still commissioning me even with the higher prices now. As for those who are a little on the poor side, I hope you can forgive me for raising them. :iconcryforeverplz: But please don't give up hope yet! I do plan to give discounts so please be on the look out for that!

People I Plan To Commission/Owe Commission Points To [If they're open... |D]

- :iconf-ayn-t: - 800 for a two-person sketch

- :iconamber-sky: - 115 :points: for a fanfic

- :iconwintercupcake: - 150 :points: for a chibi

- :iconmaraudingseveritus: - 240 :points: for a normal picture

Total: 1305  :points:

Well, that's all for now. Thanks again for reading and have a great day/night! :wave:

Well, like anything, you have to work for money. I'm sure you don't go to your boss and say 'I deserve this money and need it' - so does everyone else working there for him. That, and those essays are to separate the people who just end up going to college and flunk out from people who really want to put in the effort to go/get money.

Though if I were you, I wouldn't be too excited to live in a dorm...unless it's in a school you want to go that's in another state or too far to commute, then forget it - it's not worth the extra money you have to scrounge up. If you're not used to living on your own by now, dorm like will be a pain sometimes, especially if you're hungry and the cafeteria is closed and no where is open. And you have to deal with paying to do your laundry and waiting for others to be done. Just research the dorm life a bit more, it's for some people, but not for others. In my honest opinion, people have grossly made the 'college experience' out of proportion. But now, especially in times where economic stuff is always on a slippery slope, it'd be best to think about money and how to save it. Think of it this way - the more money you save now, the faster you'll be able to move out on your own after college.

Haha, you're right about that. Thanks for bringing that up! I did not think about that at all. |D I wonder if there are any other ways colleges can separate people besides essays and financial needs. I know there are lots of video challenges that scholarships allow but I'm a little camera shy.

Again, thank you for bringing that up. I have heard that dorm life can be bad since some people have told me about their drunken roommate's friends coming into their rooms late at night. That would be bad. D: It would be worse if I can't go anywhere since I still haven't learned how to drive yet. Do you think it would be better if I stayed at home with my parents or got an apartment of my own?

Getting an apartment (see: a very cheap, dirty, small apartment) might be cheaper, but you'd still have to buy your own food (that is if you don't get a meal plan with the school and are too far away from the cafeteria(s)), your own furniture, and it might get very lonely/scary. I'd say unless you've had experience living all on your own before, even with a bit of help from your parents, don't bother. It's better to stay home but if you're worried about being nagged all the time, don't stay home to do work and such - go to your school's library and leave when it's late. You might get more work done and you won't have to deal with annoying family members if they're asleep by then. (Maybe public transportation? Or finally convincing your folks to let you learn to drive? )

Good idea. I can't afford to do that now unless I had a job. D| I would like to get out of the house more often. My parents are the only things holding me back. However, if I go out to study and leave when the library closes late, I know my dad's going to nag me about that.

If you really want an apartment, the consider getting a few roommates...but that is a huge investment/luck pool that you're dipping your feet into. You never know when you get equally nagging people as your parents/dirty people/crazy people. So you're just gonna have to decide if it's worth spending all that money, having more things that your parents are going to nag you about, or just stay at home in your room studying (actually studying) and ignoring your parents if they start getting rowdy.

Getting roommates would be interesting since we would share the rent, utilities, etc. But I would be afraid of getting people I don't even know along with the crazy, dirty, and/or lazy people and the friends or family members that they would bring over.

I guess I'll really need to learn how to drive. And soon.

Yeah. But if you go somewhere that you can use public transportation with, you can learn to drive just to go to a part-time job and use the earnings for transportation money instead of gas money since it's just a bit less.

Would it be better to use a bus or a taxi, though?

Wow! You've sure read a lot of manga! :XD:
I had to look over it twice just to make sure that I wouldn't say something that you've already read >w<
(you actually have some of my favorites listed, Tokyo Mew Mew, Sailor Moon, and Yu Yu Hakusho, which makes me happy! :D )
Anyways! I can see that you've read some of Clamp's work (Chobits) as well as Yuu Watase's work (Absolute Boyfriend) And since I don't see them on the list, I will recommend to you "Cardcaptor Sakura" from Clamp and "Fushigi Yuugi" from Yuu Watase! :D I find them both to be very good series, with Cardcaptor Sakura having that Tokyo Mew Mew/Sailor Moon feeling to it (as in, it may have a kid-like theme/moments to it, but it is also capable of having a more mature-like theme, so both younger and older readers/watchers can enjoy it :heart: ) and with Fushigi Yuugi being more of an older teen manga (with some awkward moments similar to Absolute Boyfriend :XD: ) but still very enjoyable :3
Oh yeah! I actually know of two more, the first being "Chibi Vampire" or "Karin" the Japanese title (it's so cute! >w< it's about a vampire who produces too much blood, and instead of sucking blood she's has to get rid of her own X3 ) and the other being "Saint Seiya" (I actually read the prequal to this series first, not to long after it came out in 2009. It's called "Saint Seiya The Lost Canvas" and it's very good, even more so than the original series in my opinion. I'd recommend reading that one :) And the entire series is heavily based off of/it's main theme is Greek mythology, so if you're a fan of Greek myths then that's a plus! ^w^ These last two aren’t really considered "Shoujo manga" but even so, they're still good in my opinion! I hope that helped! :D :heart: Lol, and sorry for the long comment ^^;
P.S I just love the pictures that others drew for you of your OC Lexi with Kurama! They're so cute!! >w< :heart:

Haha, thanks. I was pretty surprised myself when I counted. About 123 so far but I'm sure there are others who have read much more than me. XDD

That's great that you're a fellow YuYu Hakusho and Sailor Moon fan. I loved both of those manga/anime and I loved Tokyo Mew Mew as well. :3 I'll be sure to add those to my list of what to read and watch in the future. I had really wanted to see Fushigi Yuugi and I even started the manga but didn't have time to finish. It sounded so good. ; w ;

Isn't Saint Seiya a mecha or a robot anime? I'm not totally into mecha/robot anime but I could check it out as well as Chibi Vampire/Karin. I'm a devoted fan to Greek mythology! :D Haha, don't worry about the comment being long. I love long comments! >w<

Aww, thank you! I'm glad that you like them~ :iconawwwplz:
